A villa in Cheltenham
c. 1885
A standard pattern of its day, made in enormous numbers and now surprisingly hard to find with the tiles intact — they were the first thing to break and the last thing anyone replaced.
Both sets here are original to the grate and complete: six tiles a side, with a hand-painted trailing-flower design typical of the mid-eighties.
